Lamoiyan Donates Hygiene Kits to Vismin Schools for 5th Kilusang Kontra Kuto
In support of the Department of Education’s Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan, Lamoiyan Corporation has donated hygiene products to VisMin schools. The donation is part of the company’s KKK or Kilusang Kontra Kuto (Movement Against Head Lice) campaign. Its aim is to keep school children safe and healthy. It aims to keep schoolchildren free from the troublesome parasites. Now in its fifth year, the KKK is considered a successful partnership that has changed a lot of lives for the better.
Kilusang Kontra Kuto
In the past years, the KKK usually had talks as well as on-site washing of the hair of the students. However, due to COVID-19 this year, this has become impossible to do. Instead, it was the schools that had to hand out the kits to the students.
Similarly, instead of an official turn-over event, the kits were given to the partner schools online. Present during the virtual turn-over were the movers and shakers of Lamoiyan. Also present were key persons from the Department of Education, as well as members of the local media.
In Support of DepEd
This year, three regions in the Visayas and Mindanao received over one million worth of Lamoiyan products. These regions were Region VII (Central Visayas), X (Northern Mindanao), and XI (Davao Region), They received Php1 million worth of products. The kits included packs of Licealiz Head Lice Treatment Shampoo, Hapee Toothpaste, and Dazz Dishwashing Liquid.
Lamoiyan also recently donated to other regions like Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and the NCR. In total, the company has donated over three million pesos worth of products all over the country.
This year’s KKK campaign supports DepEd’s special program in the time of COVID-19 (BE-LCP). This program is DepEd’s response to the effects of the ongoing pandemic.
According to Lamoiyan Corporation VP for Marketing Bing Cavestany, “We are grateful for DepEd for being very supportive of our KKK campaign. With our partnership, we were able to visit several schools in VisMin, do shampooing activities, and share the correct way of fighting head lice since 2016. Although students now are doing distance learning and we cannot do our activities due to the crisis, Licealiz would like to consistently promote health and personal hygiene through our humble donation. Children or even family members are still susceptible to head lice infestation no matter the circumstances. Especially with many staying at home and in close quarters during the pandemic.”
