Dusit Thani Mactan Holds First-Ever Tree Lighting Event

On November 28, 2019 Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu held its first-ever tree lighting event. Dusit Thani Mactan, a five-star resort located in Barangay Punta Engano in Lapu-Lapu City, is Robinsons Land Corporation’s first resort project in Mactan. The famous resort’s official soft opening was held earlier this year. Its grand opening, on the other hand, is set to take place before the year ends.

The historic tree-lighting ceremony was led by Dusit Thani Mactan General Manager Mr.. David Baldwin. Also present during the event was Lapu-Lapu City First Lady Cindi Chan. During his short but memorable talk, Mr. Baldwin expressed how happy he was to find a new home in Cebu. He also thanked the Cebuanos for giving Dusit Thani Mactan such a warm and exciting welcome.

The short but meaningful event was hosted by Miss Cebu 2011 Mia Zeeba Ali Faridoon who did a great job in keeping the energy up and the mood festive.

Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu’s beautiful gigantic Christmas Tree with white, yellow, and gold accents stands at the looby and greets visitors and guests entering and leaving the resort.

Proceeds of this special project will go straight to iLearners Inc, Dusit Thani’s partner organization. iLearners Inc is a non-profit organization that has been actively campaigning and doing projects to help address the problem of illiteracy in rural Cebu.

Guests who were present during the ceremonial lighting were personally served delicious cocktail treats, including these delicious freshly-baked Christmas cookies by German-born and trained Executive Chef Mike Scheumann.
