Tallest Christmas Tree in Mactan Shines Bright at Jpark Island Resort & Waterpark

To officially mark the start of their holiday festivities, Jpark Island Resort & Waterpark held last November 15, 2018 the symbolic lighting of their giant 2018 Christmas Tree. Dubbed “Sweet Christmas,” the festive gathering brought together some of the 5-star premier waterpark resort’s most valued friends, executives, corporate clients, and VIP guests.

The symbolic tree lighting event was spearheaded by JPark CEO Jason Uy, Chairman and President Justin Uy together with Ms. Marcela Uy, Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza, Mactan Cebu International Airport General Manager Atty. Steve Dicdican, MEZ Deputy Zone Administrator Atty. Rufino San Juan IV and Jpark’s General Manager Jonathan Nowell.

The official lighting of the giant Christmas Tree was immediately followed by a sumptuous feast together with a grand showcase of some of the most impressive musical and artistic talents in Cebu today at the Abalone Restaurant.

First to perform on stage was the Angelicus Children’s Choir which did a medley of Christmas carols. This was followed by a short but inspiring welcome remark by the waterpark resort’s General Manager, Mr. Jonathan Nowell.

Kids from the Lapu-Lapu City Home Care Center came on stage next and performed a number of Christmas songs for the guests as their way of saying thanks to the resort’s undying support.

Guests were treated to a sumptuous selection of international dishes at the Abalone Restaurant. Those who were present enjoyed the various spreads which featured local and international favorites like Lechon Cebu, Braised Lamb Shank in Tomato Sauce, Pan Grill Salmon Fillet, Pecking Duck, Beef Ribeye, and Kare-Kare, among others.

Next, the Fidelis Choir entertained guests with a medley of Christmas classics.

JPark’s very own ‘Amigos’ also performed a rousing dance number as guests enjoyed their scrumptious dinner buffet.

Also present was violinist Melissa Cipres who did a beautiful solo violin performance.

Before the night came to a close, Jpark Island Resort & Waterpark launched the Wave Rider Amphibious Boat, their newest water activity offering. Jpark Island Resort is the exclusive distributor of the Sealegs Amphibious Craft in the whole country.

Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark also launched the resort’s 2018 Christmas video campaign which highlights Christmas traditions in the Philippines being practiced by different nationalities. The video features a Cebuano-Korean rendition of the well-loved Cebuano Christmas hymn Kasadya Ning Taknaa performed by resort employees together with Korean-Bisaya Social Media Star “AnnyeongHaleo” and the C3 Core Singers. To officially close the event, Chairman and President Justin Uy delivered an inspiring speech where he talked about his family’s humble beginnings and experiences.
