PalawanPay – Palawan Pawnshop’s E-Wallet Designed for the Needs of the Pinoy Suki
The Palawan Pawnshop Group (PPG) has recently launched its very own e-wallet app PalawanPay. With the goal of giving Filipinos unserved by formal banking channels access to financial services, the new development is just one of the company’s many efforts to stand true to its mission.
With the new e-wallet app called PalawanPay and together with the Palawan Express Pera Padala (PEPP) network across the country, Filipinos can now send and receive money anytime and anywhere.
PalawanPay E-Wallet App
The PalawayPay e-wallet app is unlike any other. Its main focus is providing its Pinoy suki with convenient remittance options. This means that customers have the power to send money from their e-wallet to another customer’s e-wallet. Additionally, using the e-wallet, the customer can also send money directly from his e-wallet to the PEPP network. So the receiver can receive the money from any of PEPP’s branches and agent outlets all over the country.
Aside from pera padala, the new PalawanPay app gives users access to other financial services. These services include bills payment, e-loading, and scanning to pay. In addition, users can cash-in or cash out at any PEPP branch or participating agent nationwide.
“We are revolutionizing the way we do business in PPG. In fact, this is to ensure that the wave of digital transformation includes and impacts our suki market. Our market mostly consists of the underserved segment,” says PPG president and CEO Bobby L. Castro. He added that the app is really meant to satisfy their 3 suki market values: “Madali, Mabilis, at Safe.”
“The PalawanPay app delivers a faster, safer, secure, and hassle-free pera padala experience. To apply for a basic account, all a person needs to do is to provide basic personal information. Then, he has to complete a liveness check. Unlike other e-wallets, PalawanPay basic account users can already cash-out and send remittances for up to Php20,000 a month. For verified access and higher monthly limits, customers only need to provide one of 30 acceptable IDs,” said Third Librea, PalawanPay’s Business Executive Officer.
Palawan Pawnshop Group
Founded in 1985, PPG has served as a one-stop money shop for everyday Filipinos. They offer various financial services available in every province of the country through its branches and vast partner network.
“The company’s goal is to provide financial services to Filipinos anywhere in the country. Also, we want to serve as a bridge between family members,” said Castro.
Librea added that PPG’s goal is financial inclusion and providing their sukis with convenient options of paying, sending, and receiving money. However, the company has other interesting products in the pipeline.
They plan to develop systems to allow users to perform other tasks. In fact, with the system, users can transfer between other banks and e-wallets, renew pawns, and even send money abroad. Additionally, PalawanPay also plans to continuously increase the number of its biller partners to make payments more accessible nationwide.
