Shell Opens Next-Generation Community Retail Hub in Banilad

Shell, the country’s energy leader, officially opened its second next-generation community retail hub in Cebu last December 4, 2019. Just like the very first branch located along Mango Avenue, the new hub has all the important features that make it truly one of a kind. The new branch is located along Banilad Road (beside Foodland) just before the Banilad Flyover.

The Shell Next-Generation Community Retail Hub is designed to cater to people from neighboring communities. The hub serves as a place where they can come together to relax, rest, and bond over great food and drinks.

According to Shell Global Network Planning Manager Randy Del Valle, aside from the usual gas station services like fuel and convenience stores, the next generation stations of Shell will provide an enhanced retail experience. This means that aside from fueling up their cars, customers can also perform a host of other activities at the hub.

She added that the new hub has ‘green’ features that are in line with the company’s move to create a more sustainable way to do business. The hub has solar panels which will cut down energy costs by 36%. It also has a green self-irrigating plant wall and rainwater collector to help reduce dependence on freshwater. And to be more energy-efficient, the station also uses LED lighting and inverter technology for their chillers.
