BAI Golf: A Tournament for Change
The Battle Against Ignorance (BAI) Foundation is set to make history with its first-ever BAI Golf: Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament of the South. The event is happening from April 4 to 5, 2025, at Liloan Golf and Leisure Estates by the Duros Group. More than just a showcase of skill and sportsmanship, this event brings together golf enthusiasts and celebrity players. The goal of the tournament is to drive awareness and support for a meaningful cause: helping the homeless, individuals battling addiction, and those struggling with mental health issues.
Swinging with the Stars
This year’s tournament will see a stellar lineup of A-list celebrities and avid golfers. Expencted to take part are Tonton Gutierrez and Glydel Mercado, Cesar Montano, Gary Estrada, Vince Hizon, and Pat Sugui. Their participation not only elevates the tournament’s prestige but also strengthens the foundation’s ability to raise much-needed funds.
Beyond the celebrity presence, key stakeholders, local government units, and corporate sponsors have also pledged their support. This underscores the community’s collective effort to create lasting change.
Bai Golf: Teeing Off for a Purpose
Founded in 2011, BAI Foundation has been at the forefront of providing aid to the broken, wounded, and marginalized members of society. In collaboration with Safehaven Recovery Village, the foundation offers personalized recovery programs to individuals in need. Despite their noble mission, raising awareness and resources has been a constant challenge.
To address this, BAI Golf was born—a platform that merges sports and social advocacy. “We realized that tapping into celebrities and influencers would significantly boost awareness about what we do,” says Lito Gruet, BAI Executive Director. “More people can learn about our mission. And their reach can inspire them to contribute.”
More Than Just a Game
For Ronnie Delos Santos, President of BAI Foundation, this tournament is more than just a sporting event. For him, it is a lifeline for the forgotten. “The goal of BAI Golf is to ensure that the foundation has sustainable resources to continue our work. We don’t want this to be a one-time project. In fact, we want this to be a continuing commitment to those in need.”
