Lite Ferries Cuts Cebu-Luzon Travel Time with New Pioneering Gateway

Lite Ferries President and CEO Lucio E. Lim, Jr. led on July 31, 2021, the inauguration and launching of the new pioneering gateway to Luzon via Northern Cebu. This event, which took place during the company’s 30th year, was made more special with the presence of Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia and the leaders of the different agencies and local government units who helped make this project possible.

Gateway to Luzon

The new route is “the most exciting pioneering gateway to the Province of Cebu” in recent years. First, the route will cut travel time from days to just 9 hours. Second, this new route is seen to help boost the economy of both Cebu and Sorsogon. Third, the project will help lessen road use and vehicle wear and tear. Lastly, the project will help give travelers a safer and faster route.

The two main ports of the new route will be the Polambato Port in Bogo City in Cebu and the Matnog Port in Sorsogon. However, the Maya Port in Daanbantayan will serve as an alternative port. This is to ensure that travel continues even if the Polambato Port cannot be used for whatever reason.

Trips:

Matnog to Bogo/Maya – 11:45pm Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Bogo/Maya to Matnog – 11:45pm Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday
