Cebu Pacific Expands Visayas-Mindanao Network with 18 New Routes

Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the Philippines’ leading carrier, further solidifies its dominance in the Visayas and Mindanao regions by adding 18 new routes to its extensive network. This expansion aims to enhance inter-island connectivity, provide more accessible and affordable air travel options, and boost economic growth in these regions.

Bigger Cebu Pacific Flight Network

Starting in October 2024, Cebu Pacific will operate 73 routes. These routes will serve Visayas and Mindanao, increasing its capacity on these flights to 2.1 million seats from 1.4 million in January 2024. This growth will also lead to a significant increase in the number of flights operating across the network. As a result, they will reach an average of 12,000 per month.

  • New routes: CEB will introduce new routes from its hubs in Iloilo, Davao, Cebu, and Clark. The new routes will connect these cities to various domestic and international destinations.

  • Increased capacity: The expansion will significantly boost CEB’s capacity in the Visayas and Mindanao regions. This will make air travel more accessible to a wider range of travelers.

  • New aircraft: To support this growth, CEB will receive 18 aircraft this year, including 11 that have already arrived. Additionally, the airline has placed a substantial order for up to 152 Airbus aircraft. These aircraft will start being delivered no later than 2029.

According to data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), every job in the air transport industry supports 29 other jobs in related sectors. The airline will create over 3,700 jobs in the region with the expansion.
