RAFI Micro-Finance and Uratex Group of Companies Partner to Support Microbusinesses Nationwide
RAFI Micro-Finance, Inc. (RAFI MFI) recently partnered with Uratex Group of Companies to expand its support for small and micro-businesses in the Philippines. The partnership began on September 2, 2021. This is considered a truly exciting move especially with countless businesses suffering the effects of the worldwide health problem.
RAFI Micro-Finance, Inc.
RAFI Micro-Finance, the microfinancing focus area of the Ramon Aboitize Foundation Inc (RAFI) has always prioritized the livelihood needs of low-income families in the Visayas and other parts of the country.
In fact, the members of RAFI MFI’s programs are individuals who belong to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). This is the group that makes a living selling and reselling products.
To understand their needs, RAFI MFI conducted a needs assessment. And it turned out that access to raw materials like scrap fabrics was very crucial to their daily production flow. And the partnership with Uratex has filled this gap. As a result, client-beneficiaries in the sewing business can benefit from this easy access to raw materials.
Uratex
Based on the agreement, Uratex will donate scrap fabrics to RAFI MFI’s client-beneficiaries. This is done not only to help those who need support but also to give importance to the upcycling efforts of the clients of RAFI MFI.

According to Mr. Jonar Dorado, RAFI MFI’s Chief Operating Officer, “Collaborations like this are very important to push our mission of elevating lives further. That is why I have nothing but the deepest thanks to Uratex. I want to thank them for giving us assistance that we needed during these times.”
