Cebuano Favorite Leona Cakes and Pastries Opens Branch in AyalaMalls Central Bloc

Before the year 2019 officially came to a close, Leona Cakes and Pastries once again celebrated yet another important milestone. On December 6, 2019, Leona Cakes and Pastries, Cebu’s most favorite cakes and pastry brand, opened its newest branch. The opening of the new store, which coincided with the grand opening of AyalaMalls Central Bloc in Cebu IT Park, is a testament not only to the Cebuanos’ trust in the brand but also to Leona Cakes and Pastries’ continually growing appeal.

The festive occasion, which was attended by special guests and members of the media, was held at 3:00 pm on December 6th, when the new mall also officially opened its doors to the public for the very first time.

Heading the grand opening were some of the people behind the brand’s success, including founder Jane-Jane T. Ong and Architect James Jao who was responsible for the new store’s cool and chic design.

The Leona Cakes and Pastries brand started out as a backyard business venture back in 1999. By producing tasty, quality, and affordable products, the start-up quickly got the attention of the meticulous Cebuano consumers.

In 2008, Ong was given the Small Business Entrepreneur of the Year by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry in recognition of the brand’s tremendous success.

Today, Leona has become synonymous with quality pastries and great-tasting cakes. And with the brand’s research and development team working tirelessly to innovate and improve, there is no doubt that the brand will still be around in the decades to come.

Visit the newest Leona Cakes and Pastries branch on the ground floor of the new AyalaMalls Central Bloc. It is located right next to the entrance along I. Villa Street.
