John Roa Back in Cebu City for AMGO Tour

Cebuano singer, songwriter, & rapper and former Ex Battalion member John Roa recently traveled back to Cebu City for the Cebu leg of his AMGO Tour.

Talking to members of the local media during a press conference held at Quest Hotel & Conference Center – Cebu last August 30, 2019, the 19-year-old proudly shared about his very first EP Amgo. He also bared his future plans, his struggles as a solo artist, and his aspirations as a musician. When asked to share about his roots, John fondly recalled his experiences as a student of UC Banilad and as a resident of Barangay Mabolo.

Now based in Manila, John revealed that his first EP entitled AMGO, which contains 5 tracks, chronicles his journey and his experiences as an artist and as a Cebuano in the big city. As a matter of fact, the title of his EP Amgo, which is Cebuano for the word ‘realization,’ is a reflection of his many unforgettable life-changing decisions, experiences, and realizations in life so far.

A Rising Star

After leaving Ex Battalion, John Roa focused on writing songs and creating his own distinct sound and musical style. Despite his young age, he is now considered one of the fastest-rising artists in the country. His recent hits “Oks Lang,” “Need You,” and “Di Ako Fboy,” continue to enjoy great popularity especially among avid fans, supporters, and lovers of OPM. He has over 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify and millions of combined views on the video-sharing site Youtube.

To promote his EP Amgo, John Roa visited Cebu and dropped by some of the top radio stations and gig sites in the city. Eager to meet his Cebuano fans, John Roa also spent an evening performing his hits at Ayala Center Cebu – one of his favorite weekend hangout places in the city.
