A Little Platform for Cebu, A Milestone Worth Celebrating
I started TheCebuano.com in 2015 with a simple goal: to connect with fellow Cebuanos, share stories about our beloved home, and keep people informed about what’s happening around Cebu. I wanted to create a platform where every Cebuano, no matter where in the world they may be, could discover local places, explore food and travel, learn about events, and read stories about the people and communities that make Cebu special.
When I started, I never imagined that TheCebuano.com would one day be nominated for Best Cebu Events Blog at the Best Cebu Blogs Awards, much less be selected as one of the Top 3 finalists this year.
In this day and age, when almost anyone can create and publish content online, being named one of the Top 3 finalists is already a huge honor. It means a lot to know that the time, money, and energy I invested in building this platform have helped earn TheCebuano.com a place among Cebu’s recognized blogs.
For me, this milestone is already a reminder to keep doing what TheCebuano.com set out to do: tell local stories and help readers see Cebu from a local perspective. It also makes this recognition more meaningful. Knowing that it comes from an organization that has long celebrated the work of Cebu’s bloggers and digital storytellers, I know that I did something good.
For the uninitiated, the Best Cebu Blogs Awards (BCBA) is an annual awarding ceremony that recognizes Cebu-based bloggers and their contributions to the digital community. Additionally, as the pioneering and only award-giving body of its kind in Cebu, it recognizes blogs, bloggers, and social media influencers or movers in the local blogosphere.
BCBA highlights the importance of Cebu’s blogging community in the Visayas and across the Philippines. Also, BCBA recognizes outstanding work by Cebuanos and Cebu-based bloggers that can stand alongside international counterparts.
Being part of this year’s Top 3 finalists makes the experience even more meaningful. In fact, it is an opportunity to celebrate not only TheCebuano.com’s journey but also the local storytellers who continue to share their perspectives, experiences, and ideas with the world.
The Best Cebu Blogs Awards would not be possible without the people who support Cebu’s blogging and content creation community.
A special thank you goes to bai Hotel Cebu, the event’s venue sponsor and co-presenter. A gamechanger in Cebu’s hospitality industry, bai Hotel Cebu is a total stand out. It is known for its quality service, amenities, and offerings for both business and leisure guests. Its support helps bring Cebu’s bloggers and digital storytellers together for this year’s celebration.
Additionally, TheCebuano.com extends its gratitude to all the sponsors and partners who help make the event possible.

Thank you for supporting the people and platforms that continue to tell Cebu’s stories.
Being named one of the Top 3 finalists at the Best Cebu Blogs Awards 2026 is a milestone worth celebrating. What began as a simple way to connect with fellow Cebuanos has grown into something so much bigger. Now, I have the opportunity to reach more people and share more of what makes Cebu truly unique.
There are still plenty of places to discover, people to meet, and stories to tell. TheCebuano.com looks forward to continuing that work and bringing readers closer to the Cebu they know and love.
Finally, to everyone who has read, shared, and supported TheCebuano.com, thank you for being part of this wonderful journey.
Whatever the final result, making it to the Top 3 is already something to be proud of. And I promise you, I will never stop sharing Cebu’s amazing stories. You have my word.
