Cebu In Review: November 2017
The month of November is over. And the Christmas month is finally here! But before we all get busy wrapping gifts, organizing family gatherings, or cooking Christmas dishes, let’s slow down for a bit and look back at some of the awesome things that happened this past month.
Let us revisit some of the many important events that helped usher in the Christmas month in our good old Cebu.

November 4 – Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf’s 2018 Giving Journal Launched
Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf officially launched their 2018 Giving Journal by gathering some of Cebu’s most influential social media personalities. The event, which was held at their eBloc 2 branch, also featured top emerging Cebu acts, fun games, and free-flowing coffee!
November 6 – Waterfront Mactan Treelighting Ceremony
Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino held the official lighting of their glittering Christmas Tree last November 6, 2017. During the event, guests were treated to an exquisite buffet spread which featured various re-imagined local favorites.
November 11 – Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan Groundbreaking and Party
Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan celebrated their 7th year in the industry by throwing a truly memorable party. During the event, guests enjoyed free-flowing wine, an amazing buffet spread prepared by the resort’s top restaurants, live entertainment, and a dazzling fireworks show. The resort’s recently-completed as well as soon-to-be-started projects were also revealed during the event.
November 12 – Robinsons Galleria Cebu Treelighting
Robinsons Galleria Cebu officially lighted their 2017 European Fig Tree with much funfare and excitement. Gracing the event were top Kapamilya star Gerald Anderson and the beneficiaries of their yearly Christmas Tree Festival.
November 15 – JPark Christmas Tree Lighting
In the presence of top hotel honchos as well as the movers and shakers of Lapu-Lapu City, JPark Island Resort and Waterpark officially lighted their outdoor Christmas Tree. Guests were then treated to some of the most sumptuous dishes at the resort’s Abalone Restaurant.
November 24 – Uber and Cebu City Hall
Seeking to finally put an end to the worsening traffic condition in the city, Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmena signed a deal with transport giant UBER. Under the said deal, the city government will be using the company’s system in making sure that all government vehicles are properly utilized and used by as many government employees as possible.
November 25 – FOOD Carnival SM
Last November 25, SM City Cebu officially relaunched their food court. To re-introduce the products of its tenants, SM City Cebu prepared a food appreciation activity. Urging both the members of the media and its regular diners to participate, the activity was pretty simple but truly fun.
November 30 – Magbuwag Ta Kay Premier Night
Magbuwag Ta Kay starring viral social media personality Rowell Ucat aka Medyo Maldito, Akiko Solon, and Snake Princess finally held its premiere screening last November 30 at Cinema 8 of SM City Cebu. The movie event, which attracted spectators from various parts of the city, will have regular screening beginning January 2018.
November 30 – Cebu Food Crawl 2017
Also on November 30, the Cebu Bloggers Society began the third installment of the yearly four-day food appreciation activity Cebu Food Crawl. The event was attended by experienced food and lifestyle bloggers from Cebu, Cayagan de Oro, and Manila. The event featured at least 16 restaurants and more than 50 different dishes.
