Basically, if you ask anyone who is quite versed in the local dining scene, that person will tell you that tuslob-buwa and Papart’s are one and the same. The name Papart’s has become synonymous with this local favorite that it has become seemingly impossible for the brand to venture into anything that doesn’t involve pig’s brain, a stove, and a hot pan.

But one should never undermine the power of perseverance, hard work, and passion. With these three together, the impossible becomes possible. And that is exactly what happened with Papart’s.

Fresh from the success of their tuslob-buwa venture, Papart’s is back. But this time, it has veered away from the tuslob-buwa game. From being a simple food house, the brand has taken a bold step and transitioned itself to becoming a fast casual diner and cafe. Owners Tere and Debbie know they have a lot on their plate, but this is something that they’ve always dreamed of. And while they realize that running this type of restaurant will never be easy, they know from experience that it can indeed be done.

Papart’s Diner and Cafe is located right in the heart of the bustling city of Mandaue. Occupying a small but cozy space on the second floor at the Maroo Arcade, the diner is frequented not just by regular customers but also by curious foodies who are always on the look-out for new dining finds.

The great thing about Papart’s is that it is not just a business venture. It is also a passion project. Tere, who personally takes care of all the cooking assignments, shared that building the Papart’s menu was not easy. They had to first list down all possible dishes that they personally like before trimming it down to a handful. Then, to make the dishes their own, they had to experiment numerous times – usually using different ingredients – to come up with items that are not only unique, but are also as great-tasting as (if not more delicious than) the original.

The process was long and tedious, but due to Tere and Debbie’s passion and expertise, and a bit of sweat and some sleepless nights, Papart’s Diner and Cafe is now considered one of Cebu’s fastest-growing restaurant brands.
