Tien Ma’s Brings Authentic and Affordable Taiwanese Cuisine to Cebu

When it comes to Taiwanese cuisine, finding a restaurant that serves both authentic and affordable dishes can be extremely difficult. Most restaurants that serve authentic dishes can be pretty expensive. And those that do serve affordable dishes fall flat when it comes to authenticity. Good thing there’s Tien Ma’s Taiwanese Cuisine – a restaurant that serves truly authentic but affordable Taiwanese cuisine.

Eric Mendoza, owner of the very first branch in Cebu and in the whole Visayas said, “We believe that there is an underserved market in Cebu. So, we decided to bring Tien Ma’s here in order to bring something new to Cebuanos and expand the variety of offerings available. When we first tried the Tien Ma’s restaurant in Manila, we were impressed with the great tasting food and the value for money we got. And we wanted to share that with our fellow Cebuanos.”

The new Tien Ma’s branch, which was officially opened on December 5, 2019, is located at Meerea High Street along Ouano Ave. North Reclamation in Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

Occupying an area with a seating capacity of 150, the new restaurant is a perfect setting for memorable gatherings or meaningful dinners with friends or family.

Diners really enjoy Tien Ma’s freshly hand-pulled noodles, Laksa, and Chicken Wings with BBQ Sauce. But what a lot of people really visit the restaurant for are the authentic Taiwanese favorites like the Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) Beef Noodle Soup, and the Three Cup Chicken.

Tien Ma’s was started by Tien Liyuan, a market vendor from the Fang-shan township in P’ing-tung county in Taiwan. Tien spent her childhood days helping her mother cook and prepare meals for her young siblings.

Later, she perfected her Xiao Long Bao recipe while working in the kitchen of a local high school. Tien eventually opened her own stall in the night markets of Taipei where she sold her famous Xiao Long Bao.
