Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken Opens First Branch in Cebu

The very first Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar opened in San Juan, Metro Manila in 2006. The brand immediately enjoyed tremendous success. Soon afterwards, more branches were opened in various parts of the country.

Earlier this month, the brand finally opened its very first branch here in Cebu (and twelfth nationwide.) Ten years after it was introduced to Filipinos, Cebuanos can now taste the unique and distinct flavors of Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar.


Meerea High Street

Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar is franchised by Vivo Sugbu, Inc. which is headed by its chairman and CEO Mr. Eric Ng Mendoza. According to Mr. Mendoza who also owns Meerea High Street, the restaurant’s unique concept which combines good food and value for money is something that the Cebuanos would definitely enjoy.

Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar is one of Meerea High Street’s earliest locators. The strip, which is poised to become Cebu’s newest posh lifestyle destination, is located along Ouano Avenue at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.

Peri-Peri

Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar is named after the African Bird’s Eye Chili. This little ingredient, together with other herbs and spices (which are imported all the way from Africa,) are then blended together and used as marinade to give the restaurant’s signature spitfire-grilled chicken a unique and distinct taste.

In 2006, the very first Peri-Peri Chicken restaurant was established in Manila by Mr. Bryan C. Tiu. Mr. Tiu is the president and founder of iFoods Group Inc., the mother group behind other famous food brands like Kogi Bulgogi, Tokyo Cafe, Parmigiano, and Stackers Burger Cafe.


Grand Opening

Cebu’s very first Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar was opened last February 9, 2017. The ceremony was attended by members of the local media as well as some of Cebu’s most important names.

Present during the ribbon cutting ceremony were Mandaue Chamber of Commerce President Mr. Glenn Soco, Founder of Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken Mr. Bryan Tiu, Cebu 6th District Congressman Jonas Cortes, Meerea High Street and Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken Cebu’s Mr. Eric Ng Mendoza, and his wife, Mrs. Jaqueline Mendoza.

Mr. Mendoza and Mr. Tiu sample the restaurant’s best-selling chicken during the ceremonial cutting of the Peri-Peri charcoal chicken.

    sorry but this seems far from the authentic piri piri experience. This piri piri with a filipino twist.
    Good food though but a tad pricey.
