Sampling the Exquisite Flavors of Okada

Filipino food aficionados and lovers of anything sumptuous and delectable are in for an amazing treat!

Okada Manila, the country’s biggest and newest integrated resort is bringing to the Philippines a wonderful world of gastronomic delights and culinary masterpieces. Home to 21 different self-operating restaurants, Okada Manila is poised to become the Philippines’ hottest dining destination.

Recognizing Cebu as the country’s second biggest metropolis and the next most important lifestyle center in the Philippines, Okada Manila recently launched here in Cebu a two-day dining spectacle aptly called “Taste of Okada.” Taste of Okada is a preview of what Okada Manila has to offer. Headlining the event was Michelin-starred Chef Hirofumi Imamura of upscale contemporary Japanese restaurant Kappou Imamura which is set to open at Okada Manila this year.

Taste of Okada

The two-day Taste of Okada event, which brought together digital influencers, members of the local media, as well as some of Cebu’s most important names, was held at the posh Anzani Prime in Banilad.

Guests enjoyed a wide variety of arrival canapes before the start of the 6-course meal.

Chef Hirofumi Imamura is the Michelin-starred Chef de Cuisine of Kappou Imamura, one of Okada Manila’s 21 restaurants. Chef Imamura is an expert in sushi and kaiseki preparations, food and wine pairings, Fugu preparation, and more. With over 20 years of experience in culinary management, Chef Imamura has worked in various world-renowned fine dining Japanese restaurants in Hong Kong, Macau, Las Vegas, New York, and Tokyo.

Chef Imamura, who is very passionate when it comes to the gastronomic arts, strongly practices the Philosophy of Five. Chefs who follow this age-old Japanese culinary tradition inculcate the 5 senses, 5 colors, 5 tastes, 5 ways, and 5 attitudes in their gastronomic masterpieces.

Kappou Imamura

Kappou Imamura is an upscale contemporary Japanese restaurant that is set to open in Okada Manila in 2017. It is headed by Okada Manila’s Michelin-starred culinary master Chef Imamura. Kappou Imamura is located at the upper ground level of the integrated resort complex. It features posh and elegant interiors, coupled with a relaxed atmosphere to make the dining experience not only memorable but also truly satisfying.

Kappou Imamura has a 360-sqm dining area and can seat up to 90 guests at a time. It also has smaller rooms for private functions and more intimate gatherings. It is open from 6:30 am to 3:00 am.
