7 Exciting Big-Ticket Cebu Projects to Watch out for

A lot of exciting things are happening in Cebu these days. There’s the approval of the BRT project to help solve the current traffic problem. There’s also the planned construction of a third Mactan Bridge which would make travel to and from Mactan a lot easier. And of course, let’s not forget the numerous construction projects in various parts of the Metro. Now, we’re not talking about simple low-rise projects here. We’re talking about big-ticket projects that will surely bring positive change to Cebu. Here are 7 stand-out projects that you’ll surely be excited about.


1. SM Seaside City Complex

The SM Seaside City complex at the South Road Properties will house several high-rise towers, a church, a convention center, an arena, and the third SM mall in Cebu. The mall, once completed, will also be considered one of the biggest malls in the world.

2. City di Mare

 

Currently the SRP’s second biggest locator, City di Mare by FilInvest will have a high-end residential component as well as a sea-side mall, retail and lifestyle component called Il Corso.

3. Mactan-Cebu International Airport Terminal 2

The much-needed construction of Cebu’s second airport terminal is finally happening. Upon completion in 2018, the Mactan-Cebu International Airport will become the first resort airport in the world.

Status: Groundbreaking held last June 29.


4. Central Bloc

The Central Bloc will be the latest addition to Cebu IT Park’s steadily growing skyline. The block will have a hotel (Seda Hotel,) several towers, and Ayala’s second mall in Cebu.

5. Robinsons Galleria

The Robinsons Galleria complex will house Robinsons Land Corporation’s 38th mall (the biggest one outside Metro Manila) in the country. It will also house Cebu’s second Summit Hotel, several residential condo buildings, and a BPO tower.

6. Mandani Bay

Mandani Bay is Hongkong Land and Taft Properties’ joint 20-ha luxury township project. The development, which is facing the Mactan Channel, will have alfresco establishments, numerous open spaces, a waterfront promenade, highrises, and more.

7. Mactan Newtown

Mactan Newtown is one of Lapu-Lapu City’s biggest projects to date. The township will have several hotels, a beach club, at least 5 office towers, 10 luxury condominium towers, and more.
